Smoking on Planes
Well I think its safe to say we all know you can’t smoke on planes. However, with the advent of Electronic Cigarettes, we can now overcome this hurdle without bothering those sitting around us.
So the question is, “Can I smoke my Electronic Cigarette on an airplane?”
The answer should be yes. If however the Airline asks you to refrain, well you may have to go Vape in the bathroom! By law, you can smoke E-cigs on planes. But how do you go about it?
You may wonder if the crew or other passengers will think your smoking a real cigarette, or even worse some kind of “other” tobacco.
Well in my experience, I find it best to strike first by letting a crew member know about your Electronic Cigarette. However, I advise against using the term “Cigarette” at all. Simply call it a vaporizer instead. That’s what it really is anyway. The term “Cigarette” is only used for marketing purposes.
Tell the attendant you have a nicotine vaporizer, and explain that they are totally legal to use on airplanes and contain no smell or tar. Tell her the “vapor” will dissipate in seconds. Do not call it smoke.
Follow this by telling her you are letting her know in advance so that you don’t alert the crew or passengers, and ask if it is ok. Usually, you will get a yes and even a few curious questions about the device.
